Here’s the cover of my October book, WHEN HORSES FLY, and I hope I can upload it and have it come out at a reasonable size….
The story takes place near Beachy Head on the southeastern coast of England…the castle is fictitional, of course, although I had some inspiration from Hastings Castle, only my fictitional one is not a ruin.

Here are a few pictures of Beachy Head, The Seven Sisters, and the coast:
A long look down from the top of Beachy Head…the site of more than a few suicides…
And finally, a shot of Birling Gap, which figured in smuggling history among other things.

What a GORGEOUS cover, Laurie! I like the scene, I like the colors, and it has a lot of emotion!

Those pix are lovely, it looks like a place for wild, windswept emotion. And your cover is beautiful, too.
I like the unconventional pose–it conveys some nice emotion. And the pics are lovely!
This really is a beautiful cover, Laurie, so emotional and unusual. It has an almost Gothic look about it, though luckily not in the heroine-in-her-nightie-running-along-the-cliffs way. 🙂
You are all so kind about my cover! I admit I thought it was nothing above ordinary, but you make me see it differently.
The cover scene was supposed to take place at night outside the overgrown maze in the castle garden…and although the hero and heroine were passionate (as in attracted) they were also angry with each other. The cover makes them appear much the opposite. But I suppose it characterizes the outcome of the book…
I loved writing in that setting, and the research was fascinating…especially regarding the smuggling!
