Winners will be announced on Sunday!
Colin Firth as Mr.Darcy was an awesome casting decision. I can’t remember how many times I’ve drooled watching this series, just for a glimpse of his perfect Mr.Darcy. Ehle is also wonderful as Elizabeth, bright yet not the empty-headed bubbly girl that Keira seemed to portray. This one’s the best ever!
ooh, I so want to win so I can watch it again, and again, and again!
I don’t have the 10th anniversary, but I do have the Special Edition, so don’t enter me. . . but *sigh*, I love that guy. . . π I only got it back in February, and after the first time I watched it (didn’t realize it was 6 hours, but hey, 6 hours of goodness there!), when I want to watch it I divid up one weekend one disk, the next the other. And yesterday was the day for disk 2 because I watched disk 1 last weekend. Geez louise, I love disk 2. So much Darcy goodness in that one!!!! π
Lois, who’ll go drool somewhere else now. . . π
This is so exciting. I would love to win this. One of these days I’ll write a Regency story.
I would love to own this so I could watch it; never have seen it. Great prize.
I’d love to have this version of “Pride and Prejudice”! The first time I saw it was on tape; this would be so much better!
OMG, how good was that series … I’ve seen it so many times, like I’m sure most of you have!
It’s still my comfort watch … if I’m sick in bed- in goes P&P on the vhs player … yes my copy is still VHS!
This set was already on my Christmas list. So, it’s like Christmas in October around here!
What a wonderful idea! I of course hope to win so that I can stop borrowing my friend’s copy whenever I get the urge to watch it again. I could buy my own, but where is the fun in that?
I so love Pride and Prejudice. I would love to win this set. π
I love Colin Firth, but have yet to see this version.. I need to enter this contest! lol
I love this miniseries! I admit I’m one of those who thought Lizzie the prettier one though what you say about Jane makes perfect sense. Colin and Jennifer were excellent in their roles. The bonus features on this 10th Anniversary edition sound very enticing.
I hope I can still be entered in the drawing although I’m not in US/ Canada. Multiregion DVD players are the norm here and many DVD buffs prefer buying Code 1 since the quality and bonus features tend to be better.
It has been so long since I read P&P (I’m 87 and read it in high school!) that I would like to start all over again!
Pride and Prejudice is what started me writing. I’ve already worn out one set of VHS tapes and sadly, my DVD set as well. When my daughter was two, she used to cry, “Momma, Tony is vexing me greatly!” No joke, she also did a great immitation of Lydia, mores the pitty.
Colin Firth IS Mr Darcy! A friend likes Matthew in the new version better, but I think CF does a much better job at being almost painfully shy or uncomfortable in the company of strangers. And I love the part, when he sees Lizzy as he’s coming up to the house after his swim. You can almost see him thinking “Oh, my God! She’s seeing me all ruffled. What will she think?!?”
Two weeks ago I borrowed the DVD from the library. After watching it all the way through then I watched it again, skipping all the scenes without Colin. Is that bad?
All I can hear is Bridget Jones saying, Mr. Darrrrcy…LOL!
Be sure to come back and post on the blogs Mon thru Sat!!
I would love to see this version b/c I have yet to see any version :(. I have read people reference to Mr.Darcy and I have no idea what they are talking about!
I’m going to have to correct this problem soon..LOL LOL π
Thanks for the fun contest Diane!
i’d love to win this version as i was just checking it out in a catalogue, doing some early Christmas shopping. I really do love this a&e version the best, although lawrence olivier was no slouch as mr. darcy either.
Hi, jennybrat!
To answer your question — sorry, but we have to limit the contest to people in the US or Canada. The contest is sponsored by the A&E online store, as part of their publicity push for the US/Canada 10th anniversary release, so we don’t have any wiggle room here.
But please comment anyway! We love to have you here. More fun that way. π

Colin Firth is excellant in everything and anything he’s in. What a great prize y’all are offering. (And what a cool way to get readers for the blog π I might have to … ummmm.. appropriate it in the future!)
Regencies are among my favorites and have been since Heyer. Glad to find this site.
OMG I love Colin Firth, and this movie!!! Sooo good. The new one doesn’t even hold a candle to this one. LOVE IT!!! So glad I was told about this contest.
I am a little behind the times. I only just recently got a DVD player as a birthday present from my grandchildren. I have not seen this movie. It’s a wonderful prize. Thanks for the chance to win.
Please oh please let me win! My Zeekie would LOVE me for it!!
This is a great giveaway!!!

Jane Austen was an outstanding author and her portrayl of people was first-rate.
I still swoon at the scene when Mr. Darcy [aka Colin Firth *drool*] totally loses his cool with Elizabeth; he always tries so hard to remain aloof, but Elizabeth definitely gets under his skin.
Colin Firth absolutely fits my image of Mr. Darcy that I got from the book ~ *be still my heart* ~ I get goosebumps just thinking of him.
Terrific contest! And if I win, then my daughter, who has already absconded with MY original A&E copy of the DVD, can keep it and I get the new one! *grin*
