Okay, so now it is December 15! Close to zero hour for holiday gifts. Maybe you have a Janeite on your list you need a last-minute gift for? (Or even a non-Janeite who needs to be converted!). Never fear–there’s a plethora of choice out there for everybody. There’s always classics, like a beautiful copy of a favorite book or a DVD of a favorite movie (or a Jane Austen action figure! Mine is very useful–she sits on my desk and lectures me about getting to writing work when I’m wasting too much time, er, blogging). But there are some more unusual choices, as well:

I love the Mr. Darcy baby clothes! Although I think (not confirmed yet, just a feeling) that I am having a boy. Do they make something similar in blue? Maybe something that says “When I grow up I want to be like Mr. Darcy”?

Jane Austen, I’ve played that P&P game! At one of our Washington Romance Writers Retreats, Kathy Seidel, an Austen scholar and romance author, brought it. I was horrible at it!

Yes!!! I saw the perfect one–it says “Future Mr. Darcy” (your future daughter-in-law will definitely thank you). I can’t remember where I saw it, but will do some looking around. It may have been on Cafe Press.
I have a JA Centre tote bag! It’s getting sadly faded, though. I may need another trip there to stock up in the gift shop. 🙂
I think they are all fun but I would go for the jewelry.
Oh for me, the doll, the charm (to go with space shuttle charm that I finally got last month!), and while it’s not Monopoly, somewhere along the way I started collecting Monopoly games that are of the interests I like (such as Star Trek/Wars, Disney, etc), and that would fit right in. 🙂

My boss is a huge Jane Austen fan. We are having a Jane birthday tea at the library tomorrow (today).
I searched all over the web today for the infant outfit you show. We couldn’t find it anywhere. She has a granddaughter due next year and wants one. Where did you find this one?
One of each please! My SIL is about to have a baby girl so that onesie will come in handy. I believe in starting them early in their love for all things Austen. My daughters are over the top about Austen.
Please add the book ‘Lost In Austen’. It follows each of her books but stops in certain areas and gives the readers three different directions to take the stories in. Utterly brilliant.

Cara, the P&P game involves correctly answering questions about the book. As I recall, that was how you advanced on the board. I would have enjoyed it better had I answered more questions correctly!!!

Cafe Press was the first place I looked. Saw lots of cute ones. My boss was looking for that specific one. The baby isn’t even due until March and already she has a Jane Austen gift pack waiting for her.
Evil of me, but I’d laugh if the ultrasound reading was wrong and it turned out to be a boy. She’ll have to trade it all in on Darcy stuff.
librarypat, it could happen that the baby is a boy. The couple in the hospital next to us when our daughter was born were phoning their parents to say that the girl was a boy. The doctors had gotten the mother’s cell from the amniocentesis instead of the baby’s.
