Every once in a while I browse the Jane Austen Centre’s online gift shop. I’ve ordered gifts from the catalogue in the past, most notably the I love Darcy totebags as gifts to my writing friends one Christmas.
If I had money to burn, here is what I’d buy:
The caption reads: “Feel like Jane Bennett and dream of your Mr Bingley!”
I don’t know if I’d dream of Bingley, but I love the nightgown
Price: $51.84
Maybe I’d actually write in a journal if I owned this one.
Cost: $48.60
Because one cannot ever have too many totebags and this is a very pretty one!
Cost: $21.06
A coffee mug!
“I am half agony, half hope.”
The romantic line Capt. Wentworth wrote to Ann.
Cost: $24.30
This CD features music Jane would have played.
Cost: $19.44
That’s enough of an indulgence for now. Any of these items are affordable (some costumes from the giftshop are not), if extravagant. Furthermore, I don’t need any of them!
What is on your wishlist? Jane Austen Centre or otherwise, what things do you pine for, things you really could afford, but that seem too frivolous to actually purchase?
Don’t forget that Valiant Soldier, Beautiful Enemy is on sale at eHarlequin right now and will be on bookstore shelves Aug 23.
Right now I don’t have a wish list other then a few books that is coming out.
I want the mug.
The tote is fun! I have a nightgown similar to that, but I bought it at Target for a whole lot less. LOL!
Wish list always has books on it, and a care-package to military personnel charity I’d like to participate in, not frivolous really, except when there isn’t much money coming in. Someday!
I love the gift shop there too! (unfortunately for my credit card…). I have a t-shirt I wear sometimes when I’m writing that has this Austen quote on it: “The person, be it gentleman or lady, who has not pleasure in a good novel must be intolerably stupid” 🙂
Oh, I love that T-shirt, Amanda!
Judy, I may have to drop in on my local Target….
Carolyn, I want that mug, too. I had to restrain myself from putting in my credit card for it.
Virginia, books are always on my list!
That’s a fantastic quote, Amanda!
Ummm, word of warning, Diane. I bought it at Target, a long while ago. 🙂
I love the feel of fine paper so I’m lusty after that journal.
I love to shop this gift shop. However, most of my shopping there is done for friends. I NEED that t-shirt AND that mug AND … well you get the picture.
I recently acquired my new favorite shirt
If I don’t write to empty my mind, I go mad.
Lord Byron
It’s in a lovely shade of blue I am sure Georgie would have loved.
My current biggest wish list is my Amazon wish list and the bulk of the items on it are Regency Research books!
Oh there is that other little wish list of mine. Contents?
1. A Three Book Deal from a New York Publishing House!
I like the night gown and the tote both!
A NOOK is on my list.
I just checked the site. That could be a very dangerous store to go to. The catalogue is dangerous enough. I would probably opt for the patterns, since the pre-made outfits are so much. I already have the lace umbrella. Now all I need is something to wear under it. Need to stop going back. I find something different I want each time I go back.
They are really pretty, so many JA related items are available now. I love the journal and the nightgown.
Will put them on my b-day wishlist. Thanks for the tip 😀
