My Answers
1. A Summer to Remember by Mary Balogh. No, wait, I mean yes, but also The Wild Baron by Catherine Coulter. No, wait, I also love Ravished by Amanda Quick. Also Unlocked by Courtney Milan. I loved that, hard.
2. Kit in a Summer to Remember.
3. Harriet in Ravished by Amanda Quick.
4. Licorice because right now I am wearing black.
5. Marriage of Convenience. We Got Caught, oops.
6. No clinch outside. Total nekkid clinch inside step-back.
Your thoughts on these questions in the comments!
1.Toss up between The Wicked Lover by Julia Ross and Venetia by Georgette Heyer.
2.Dove from the The Wicked Lover.
3.Lady Barbara from An Infamous Army (love me a bad girl!)
4.Licorice, it’s the only flavor I’ll eat!
5.Friends to lovers and second chances.
6.No-clinch. I’ve just never been a fan. They make the books fade into a much of a muchness.
7.What’s your favorite child in a romance (so many bad examples, but sometimes the kids are great).
1.The Mysterious Miss M or When he was Wicked
2.Lord Devlin Steele
3.Jemma, The Duchess of Beaumont
4. The Mysterious Miss M or When he was Wicked
5. Friends to lovers loved Candice Hern’s in the Thrill of the Night
6.No clinch, I have a very good imagination.
7. Have you ever based a character on someone you know and if so do they know this?
Oh, Kat!!
How nice of you to choose The Mysterious Miss M and Devlin!!
1.Forbidden by Jo Beverley because the hero’s a virgin (with dark, poetic looks).
2. Sid Halley and Kit Fielding, they’re Dick Francis characters, not romance, but I’ve been in love with both of them a long time. Fave historical romance hero? Francis, Lord Middlethorpe in Forbidden. He brings his wife of convenience (who was abused in the past) a puppy. Gets me every time.
3.Diana, Countess of Arradale – in Beverley’s Malloren world.
4. The red ones.
5. Marriage of convenience, hidden/mistaken identity, hero is salvaged/rescued/nursed back to health by smart, strong woman.
6. No clinch. They don’t look historical. They look like modern people in polyester costume.
7. What’s the most fun part of setting stories in the past?
Oh, good questions and answers!
And yes, I do love a friends to lovers story, too.
And now my TBR expands on the iPad…
1. Can’t name a favorite. There are too many I love on my keeper shelves.
2.That is like asking me which of my children I love best, although Brodick Buchanan from Julie Garwood’ RANSOM is at the top of my list.
3. No real favorite, but I really liked Julie Garwood’s historical heroines.
4. The minty green ones.
5. Beauty and the Beast is my all time favorite with Cinderella coming in a close second.
6. No-Clinch
7. Are children a distraction in a romance?
This was hard!!!!
1. Flowers from the Storm by Laura Kinsale
2. There are more but here are a few: Samuel from The Shadow and the Star (Laura Kinsale), Dove from The Wicked Lover, Michael from Shattered Rainbows (Mary Jo Putney). The list goes on…
3. Melanthe from For My Lady’s Heart (Laura Kinsale), Jessica from Lord of Scoundrels (Loretta Chase), Penny from My Dark Prince (Julia Ross). This list could go on, too.
4. Pina colada.
5. Beauty and the Beast too, also the stranded on an island/snowed in in a cottage type stories
6. No clinch.
7. We’ve discussed this before here, but why do they all have to be dukes?
1. JUST ONE? No way!
The Mysterious Miss M
Claiming the Courtesan
Flowers from the Storm
Dangerous to Love
2. Ian from Dangerous to Love
Wulfric from the Slightly Series
3. Jessica from Lord of Scoundrels
4. Watermelon Jelly Belly Jelly Beans
5. Beauty and the Beast
6. Gorgeous gowns on the front and nekked clinch on the step-back.
7. Is the middle as hard to write for everyone else as it is for me??
Oh, Louisa! You put Miss M in such great company!!!
Does my heart good!!!
1. There’s no single favorite, but I loved P. Williamson’s “The Outsider”, M. Balogh’s “Irresistible”, “The Notorious Rake”, “The Temporary Wife”, and “A Summer to Remember”, Laura Kinsale’s “For My Lady’s Heart”, P. Gaffney’s Wyckerley trilogy . . . and the list goes on.
2. Lord Rival from Diane Farr’s “The Fortune Hunter” (with guest appearances in several other books) (+ Ruck and Christy and several others — I’m clearly having trouble counting to one).
3. Rachel Yoder from “The Outsider” and Melanthe — I like heroines who face real moral issues and who struggle
4. Licorice only
5. Marriages of convenience and friends to lovers (but not when she’s pined for him since childhood and let Life pass her by while he’s gone out and actually lived Life)
6. No clinch. As Jane George said, they look false.
7. Do characters, whether primary or secondary, ever highjack the story?
